AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 , SECTIONS
30-4(B) AND 30-33 (B) ( 4) OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT CONCERNING
MOBILE HOMES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING FOR REPEAL AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter 30 , Section 30-4(b) , Definitions, of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be amended to reflect
a change in the definition for Mobile Home to read as follows:
Section 30-4(b) : Definitions.
Mobile Home: A mobile home is a single
family residential structure suitable for
year-round occupancy, transportable in one or
more sections, built on a permanent chassis
and designed to be used with or without a
permanent foundation when connected to the
required utilities. Mobile home includes the
terms trailer coach and modular home.
Section 2 .
That Chapter 30, Section 30-33 (b) ( 4) , Mobile Home, of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be amended to read
as follows:
Section 30-33 (b) (4) :
Mobile Home: A mobile home shall be
permitted only in a mobile home park or a
mobile home subdivision or as a single family
use for security caretaker housing on
property and facilities used as a
governmental or public school district use
through a specific use permit.
Section 3.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 4.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
Section 5.
Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance
shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1 -8 of
the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
