ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE lM7N0I00 C30PT7R 28 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT TO AMEND SEWER RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL
AND COMMERCIAL-INDUSTRTAL CUSTOMERS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR
REPEAL; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter. 28, Section 28-53(a) of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Beaumont, Texas, be, and the same is
hereby, amended to read as follows:
Section 28-53 (a) :
Residential customers shall be charged the
following sewer rates based upon wetere(I
water used: there shall be a minimum charge
of one dollar and twenty-three cents ( $1 . 23 )
to all residential dwelling units. A charge
of one dollar and twenty-two cents ( $1 . 22 )
Baer one thousand ( 1 ,000 ) gallons based on
metered water as specifically set forth
hereinafter shall be assessed. Sewer charges
for the months of December, January and
February will be based on actual metered
water usage. Sewer charges for the months of
March through November will be computed based
on the average of the monthly water usage
appearing on the December, January and
February bills, or the actual usage for the
months of March through November, whichever
is less, Where no precediny December,
January and February monthly average volume
is available frow records, the Director of
Water Utilities shall establish an average
monthly volume based on the average monthly
water use of all residential water users in
each particular route cycle for the winter
months set out above. Sewer usage charges
for commercial-injustrial customers shall be
based on one hunarej ( 100) per cent of to
meterM water. A charge of one dollar and
twenty-two cents ($1 .22) per oyie thousand
( 1 ,000 ) gallmis shall be itiade from zero (0 )
