WHEREAS, on April 10, 2001, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
awarded a contract to Allco, Inc., Beaumont, Texas, in the amount of $419,755 for the
Digester Conversion Project; and,
WHEREAS,the City Council of Beaumont approved Resolution No.02-007 January
8, 2000, for Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $104,938 required to include the
installation of equipment necessary to perform the conversion and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Beaumont approved Resolution No. 02-103 May 7,
2002, for Change Order No. 2 in the amount of($103,345)after it was determined that the
rehabilitation portion of the project based on the new scope of work could be performed
for an amount less that the original bid; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Beaumont approved Resolution No. 02-103 May
7, 2002 for Change Order No. 3 in the amount of$28,094 to include the necessary electric
system to power the equipment used to perform the digester conversion; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 4 in the amount of $42,638.89 to install wall
brackets for air piping, install beams to support SS pipe from the roof, conduct additional
work on blowers, install pressure gauges for heat sensors, install sand and concrete in the
valve box, install additional pipe hangers, extend masonry wall, install operator platforms
on blower room, seal openings on roof, hook up switchgear to blowers, restrain air piping
in the blower building, clean digesters #1 and #2, and delete two 16-inch valves.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to execute Change Order No.
4 for the Digester Conversion Project in the amount of $42,638.89 for the extra work
described above The project, as stated above, be and the same is herein accepted and
the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to make final payment in the amount of
$65,110.99 to be paid to Allco, Inc., Beaumont, Texas.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 19th day of
August, 2003.
