ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE
LEVYING, ASSESSING AND COLLECTING OF AD
VALOREM TAXES FOR THE TAX YEAR 1982 FOR
THE PURPOSES OF PROVIDING A GENERAL
FUND, AND A SINKING FUND TO MEET THE
PAYMENT OF ALL BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AND THE PAYMENT OF
ACCRUING INTEREST THEREON; AND
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
WHEREAS, the tax roll of the City of Beaumont has not
yet been presented to the city by the Jefferson County Appraisal
District and has not been approved by the City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, the city estimates that the taxable assessed
value of all property within the city will be approximately
$2, 516,000,000. 00 and the tax rate set herein will produce
revenues sufficient to fund the appropriations of the City of
Beaumont for 1983;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
THAT there shall be and is hereby levied and shall be assessed and
collected for the tax year 1982, for municipal purposes only, an
ad valorem tax of Seventy-Five ($0. 75) Cents on each One Hundred
Dollars' ($100. 00) worth of property located within the present
city limits of the City of Beaumont made taxable by law, which
said taxes when collected shall be for purposes hereinafter set
forth as follows :
For the General Fund $0.52
For the purpose of paying . 23
the accruing interest
and to provide a sinking
fund for the payment of
the entire bonded in-
debtedness of the City
of Beaumont
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect the

remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the
provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
