HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 82-80 ORDINANCE NO. ?e?-e© 3 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 23 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, AND IN PARTICULAR THE NAMES OF THOSE CERTAIN STREETS AS INDICATED UPON THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS BY CHANGING THE NAMES OF FM 364, WALKER ROAD, FM 3120 AND MAJOR DRIVE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMON`.P: Section 1. That Chapter 23 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and in particular the official street map of the City of Beaumont, referred to in Section 23-1 thereof, be amended to reflect changes in the names of the following streets : 1) the name of FM 364 from the north side of the LNVA Canal to Highway 105 shall be changed to Major Drive; 2) the name of Walker Road from Highway 105 north to its intersection with FM 3120 shall be changed to Major Drive; 3) the name of FM 3120 from its intersection with Walker Road northwest to Tram Road shall be changed to Major Drive; and, 4) the name of the portion of Major Drive beginning at the south side of the LNVA Canal and extending generally northeastward to Highway 105 shall be changed to East Major Drive. Section 2. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
