ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
ORDINANCE 75-43 BY CORRECTING THE
DISTANCE OF THE NORTHERN MOST
BOUNDARY LINE OF A CERTAIN ZONING
DISTRICT DENOMINATED LR-1 AS INDI-
CATED UPON THE "CALDER-WEST END
REZONING STUDY MAP" DATED OCTOBER 7,
1974 AND INCORPORATED IN SAID ORDI-
NANCE BY REFERENCE; PROVIDING, FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING A PENALTY.
Section 1.
WHEREAS, Ordinance 75-43 amended former Chapter 42
of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas by rezoning an
area of the City described by the "Calder-West End Rezoning
Study Map" dated October 7, 1974 and incorporated by reference
in said ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, said rezoning study map depicts a zoning
district denominated LR-1, Local Retail District, generally
described as bounded on the south by the north right-of-way
line of Phelan Boulevard; bounded on the east by a 30 foot
county drainage easement running north and south and the western
line of which intersects the northern right-of-way line of
Phelan Boulevard 1420 feet east of the northeast corner of
Dowlen Road and Phelan Boulevard; and partially bounded on the
west by the eastern right-of-way line of Dowlen Road; and,
WHEREAS, the northern most boundary line of said
zoning district, which runs east and west perpendicular to
said drainage easement, is indicated on said rezoning study
map as a distance of 550 feet; and,
WHEREAS, said distance has been determined to be
incorrect and should be indicated on said map as a distance
of 580 feet;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the northern most boundary line of said LR-1 zoning
district referred to above be corrected to read 580 feet and
the appropriate City official be, and he is hereby, authorized
to correct the "Calder-West End Rezoning Study Map" dated Octo-
ber 7, 1974 to reflect such correction.

Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause
or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any
reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect
the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the
various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared
to be severable.
Section 3.
Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance
shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8
of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
