ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT BY AMENDING SECTION 30-27(A) (3)
TO INCREASE THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE DISTANCE
OF OFF-SITE PARKING LOTS FROM THE ENTRANCE
TO USES FOR WHICH THE PARKING IS PROVIDED;
AMENDING SECTION 30-24(B) TO PROVIDE A
PARKING GROUP FOR BANKING USES; BY ADDING
TO THE PERMITTED USE TABLE "DRIVE-IN
BANKING FACILITIES" AS A SPECIFIC USE IN
DISTRICTS AND A PERMITTED USE IN CERAIN
DISTRICTS; AMENDING SECTION 30-27(A) (6 )
ESTABLISHING A NEW PARKING GROUP; BY
AMENDING SECTION 30-24(B) BY PERMITTING
RADIO, TELEVISION, OR MICROWAVE TOWERS"
AS A SPECIFIC USE IN CERTAIN DISTRICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR
REPEAL; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section I.
THAT Chapter 30, Section 30-27(A) (3) of the Code of Ordi-
nances be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 30-27(A) (3) Required off-street parking spaces
shall be located on the same lot,
tract, parcel or premises as the
use being served or on other
property of the same or less
restrictive zoning classification
that the owner of the premises
being served has a continuing right
to use for parking. When the
required off-street parking spaces
are not located on the same lot,
tract, parcel, or premises being
served, the distance from the
parking lot to an entrance to the
building or use shall not exceed
500 feet in distance, measured
along the shortest available
pedestrian route with public access.

Section 2 .
THAT Chapter 30-24(B) of the Code of Ordinances be and the
same is hereby amended by amending the Permitted Use Table, to
provide parking group 14a for "Banking" uses and by adding to the
Permitted Use Table "Drive-In Banking Facilities" as a specific use
in the PUD (Planned Unit Development) Districts and RCR (Residential
Conservation and Revitalization) Districts and a permitted use in the
NC (Neighborhood Commercial) , NSC (Neighborhood Shopping Center) , CSC
(Community Shopping Center) , GC-MD (General Commercial Multiple-
Dwelling) , CBD (Central Business) , C-M (Commercial Manufacturing) ,
LI ( Light Industrial) , and HI (Heavy Industrial) Districts.
Section 3 .
THAT Chapter 30, Section 30-27(A) (6) , Parking Group Table,
of the Code of Ordinances be and the same is hereby amended by adding
parking group 14a requiring 1 space for each 400 square feet of gross
floor area.
Section 4 .
THAT Chapter 30, of the Code of Ordinances be and the same
is hereby amended by adding to Section 30-24(B) of said Chapter
"Radio, television, or microwave towers" as a specific use permitted
in RS (Residential Single Family) , A-R (Agricultural Residential) ,
RM-M (Residential Multiple Family Dwelling -Medium Density) , and RM-H
(Residential Multiple Dwelling -High Density) districts.
Section 5 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.

Section 6 .
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only .
Section 7 .
Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance
shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of
the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
