ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES
TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND ORDERING THEIR
DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the
buildings located at:
7. 2030 Cable 21. 627 Pipkin E.
8. 4375 Carnegie (Garage Apartment) 22. 645 Pollard
9. 5340 Combs 23. 785 Pollard
10. 855 Concord 24. 815 Pollard
11. 861 Concord 25. 2124 Pope
12. 3047 Crockett W. 26. 2230 Poplar
13. 2008 Delaware 27. 2400 Rusk
14. 3430 Duke 28. 2525 San Jacinto
15. 3440 Euclid W. 29. 4365 Sheffield (Garage Apartment)
16. 3900 Fannett Road (Commercial) 30. 2095 South
17. 4259 Grandberry 31. 3410 Texas
18. 2120 Hayes Lane 32. 1155 Van Buren
19. 1752 Herring Aly 33. 1325 Van Buren
20, 11705 Loop Road
to be public nuisances in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or
dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or
property.
Section 2.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within ten (10) days
of the effective date of this ordinance:
7. 2030 Cable 22. 645 Pollard
8. 4375 Camegie (Garage Apartment) 23. 785 Pollard
9. 5340 Combs 24. 815 Pollard
10. 855 Concord 25. 2124 Pope
11. 861 Concord 26. 2230 Poplar
12. 3047 Crockett W. 27. 2400 Rusk
13. 2008 Delaware 28. 2525 San Jacinto
15. 3440 Euclid W. 29. 4365 Sheffield (Garage Apartment)
16. 3900 Fannett Road (Commercial) 30. 2095 South
17. 4259 Grandberry 31. 3410 Texas
18. 2120 Hayes Lane 32. 1155 Van Buren
19. 1752 Herring Aly 33. 1325 Van Buren
20. 11705 Loop Road
If the property owner(s)fails to comply within ten (10) days, Council orders that the
property be demolished without further notification to the property owner(s)or City Council
action.
Section 3.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
property described below either demolish or repair such structures within 90 days of the
effective date of this ordinance. The owners are ordered to enter into a work program
concerning the structures immediately.

If the owners fail or refuse to enter into a work program or repair or demolish the
structure within the time limit set herein, the City is authorized to demolish the structure
without further Council action.
Section 4.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
buildings located at 439 Crockett are ordered to develop a proposal to renovate the
property and to enter into a work program within 90 days.
If the owner or owners fail or refuse to develop a proposal to renovate the property
and enter into a work program within 90 days, the City is authorized to demolish the
structures without further Council action.
Section 5.
The following structures were previously declared to be dangerous by the City
Council and are hereby ordered to be demolished without further notice to the owners:
2. 2085 Delaware 4. 1883 Liberty (Garage Apartment)
3. 1883 Liberty 5. 1180 Live Oak
Section 6.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the
application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be severable.
Section 7.
That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 7th day of
August, 2001.
