ORDINANCE NO. 01-049
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26,
SECTION 26-23 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT TO ESTABLISH MAXIMUM AND
MINIMUM SPEEDS IN CERTAIN ZONES; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL AND
PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That Chapter 26, Section 26-23 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont
be, and the same is hereby amended to include the following:
Speed
Direction of Miles Per Hour
Street Limits of Zones Travel Max Min
Eastex Freeway From the north city limits S 45
(US69, 96, 287) of Beaumont (centerline of
West Frontage Road Pine Island Bayou) to a
point 1,283 feet south of the
centerline of Tram Road.
Study Date: From a point 1,283 feet south S 55
June 26, 2000 of the centerline of Tram Road
To the north bank of the LNVA
Canal.
Eastex Freeway From the north bank of the N 55
(US69, 96, 287) LNVA Canal to a point 783
East Frontage Road feet south of the centerline of
Tram Road.
Study Date: From a point 783 feet south N 45
June 26, 2000 of the centerline of Tram Road
To the south bank of the Pine
Island Bayou.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the
application of same to a particular person, or to a particular set of circumstances, should
for any reason be held invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affect the remaining portions
and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the
extent of the conflict only.
Section 4.
That any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.

of July, 2001.
