ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES
TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND ORDERING THEIR
DEMOLITION, RENOVATION AND REMOVAL; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the
buildings located at:
10. 2745 Amarillo 22. 2657 Pine
11 3516 Edmonds 23. 2520 Poplar
12. 1370 Grant 24. 1919 Sabine Pass Avenue (Garage Apartment)
13. 3630 Johnstown 25. 4770 Steelton (Including carport and shed)
14. 1793-99 Liberty 26. 3475 St.James Blvd.
15. 1883 Liberty 27. 3170 Westmoreland
16. 1883 Liberty (Garage Apartment) 28. 3265 Westmoreland
17. 910 Madison (Multiple Sheds) 29. 3275 Westmoreland
18. 2146 Albany 30. 3614 Westmoreland
19. 1096-98 Madison (Duplex) 31. 2085 Delaware
20. 1310 Magnolia (Commercial) 32. 765 Madison
21. 3494-96 Magnolia 33. 5785 Tena Lane
to be public nuisances in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or
dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or
property.
Section 2.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days
of the effective date of this ordinance:
10. 2745 Amarillo 22. 2657 Pine
11 3516 Edmonds 23. 2520 Poplar
12. 1370 Grant 24. 1919 Sabine Pass Avenue (Garage Apartment)
13. 3630 Johnstown 25. 4770 Steelton (Including carport and shed)
17. 910 Madison (Multiple Sheds) 26. 3475 St. James Blvd.
18. 2146 Albany 27. 3170 Westmoreland
19. 1096-98 Madison (Duplex) 28. 3265 Westmoreland
20. 1310 Magnolia (Commercial) 29. 3275 Westmoreland
21. 3494-96 Magnolia 30. 3614 Westmoreland
If the property owner fails to comply within thirty (30) days, Council orders that the
property be demolished without further notice to the property owner(s) or City Council
action.
Section 3.
The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the
City of Beaumont on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and
removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which the building
is situated. The following structures were heretofore declared to be a public nuisance in
violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City:

4. 3433-35 Concord (Rear Metal Shed) 9. 733-37 Powell
5. 3433 Concord (Rear Shed)
Section 4.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings execute a work program within ten (10) days from the date
of this ordinance and repair said structure within 120 days:
32. 765 Madison 33. 5785 Tena Lane
If structures are not repaired in accordance with agreed work program, said
structures will be brought back before City Council for condemnation.
Section 5.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings execute a work program within thirty (30) days from the date
of this ordinance and repair said structure within 120 days:
34. 4360 Brandon
If structures are not repaired in accordance with agreed work program, said
structures will be brought back before City Council for condemnation.
Section 6.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings execute a work program within thirty (30) days from the date
of this ordinance and repair said structure within 90 days:
15. 1883 Liberty 1 16. 1883 Liberty (Garage Apartment)
If structures are not repaired in accordance with agreed work program, said
structures will be brought back before City Council for condemnation.
Section 7.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings execute a work program within thirty (30) days and
commence work:
1. 230 Adams 8. 701 Grant (2037-57-61-63 Irving)
2. 1870 Central Drive 14. 1793-99 Liberty
7. 3050 Grand 31. 2085 Delaware
If structures are not repaired in accordance with agreed work program, said
structures will be brought back before City Council for condemnation.
Section 8.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or
the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any
reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance and, to such end, the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be severable.
Section 9.
That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
