ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES
TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND ORDERING THEIR
DEMOLITION, RENOVATION AND REMOVAL; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the
buildings located at:
8. 3305 Avenue A 22. 820 Madison
9. 2254 Avenue D 23. 460 Neicy
10. 1845 Bolivar (Garage) 24. 2395 Park
11. 3433-35 Concord Road (Commercial) 25. 4140 Roland Road
12. 3433-35 Concord Road (Rear Metal Shed) 26. 2120 Rockwell
13. 3433 Concord Road (Rear Shed) 27. 2490 Rusk
14. 2690 Cox 28. 11080 Sherwood Drive
15. 2005 Delaware 29. 1089 W. Virginia
16. 2436 Emile 30. 1870 Central Drive
17. 3396 W. Euclid 31. 2680 Cox
18. 2121 Forrest 32. 48 Guffey (Garage Apartment)
19. 2530 Gilbert 33. 1113 Hazel
20. 3875 Harding Drive 34. 2860 Orange
21. 1374 Harrison 35. 733-37 Powell
to be public nuisances in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or
dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or
property.
Section 2.
The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the
City of Beaumont on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and
removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which the building
is situated. The following structures were heretofore declared to be a public nuisance in
violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City:

Section 3.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,Texas, and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days
of the effective date of this ordinance:
8. 3305 Avenue A 20. 3875 Harding Drive
9. 2254 Avenue D 21. 1374 Harrison
10. 1845 Bolivar (Garage) 22. 820 Madison
14. 2690 Cox 23. 460 Neicy
16. 2436 Emile 24. 2395 Park
17. 3396 W. Euclid 25. 4140 Roland Road
18. 2121 Forrest 26. 2120 Rockwell
19. 2530 Gilbert 28. 11080 Sherwood Drive
If the property owner fails to comply within thirty (30) days, Council orders that the
property be demolished without further notice to the property owner(s) or City Council
action.
Section 4.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings either demolish or repair said structures within thirty(30)days
of the effective date of this ordinance:
11. 3433-35 Concord Road (Commercial) 31. 2680 Cox
12. 3433-35 Concord Road (Rear Metal Shed) 33. 1113 Hazel
13. 3433 Concord Road (Rear Shed) 35. 733-37 Powell
30. 1870 Central Drive
Section 5.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,Texas and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described buildings either demolish or repair said structures within one hundred
twenty (120) days of the effective date of this ordinance:
1. 1445 Broadway 29. 1089 Virginia
2. 2275 Broadway 32. 48 Guffy (garage apartment)
5. 3673 St. James 34. 2860 Orange
15. 2005 Delaware
If structures are to be repaired, the owner must execute a work program with the
City and complete repairs in accordance with that work program.
Section 6.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,Texas, and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described building commence work on said building under a work program within
sixty (60) days of the effective date of this ordinance:

Section 7.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,Texas, and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described building sign a work program and allow inspection of said structure
within ten (10) days and complete the work within ninety (90) days of the effective date of
this ordinance.

Section 8.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter o fthe City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont,Texas,and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the
following described building either sign a work program or demolish and remove said
structure within sixty (60) days of the effective date of this ordinance:
3. 3003 M.L.King, Jr.S.Pkwy. (Commercial)
Section 9.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or
the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any
reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance and, to such end, the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be severable.
Section 10.
That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
