ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES
TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND ORDERING THEIR
DEMOLITION, RENOVATION AND REMOVAL; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the City
of Beaumont on account of the owners thereof and such expense of demolition and removal
shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which the building is situated.
The following structures were heretofore declared to be a public nuisance in violation of
Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City:
3. 3425 Corley 7. 2365 Lela
4. 655 Fulton 8. 1614 Port
5. 1525-27 Fulton 9. 815 Saxe
6. 2995 Glenwood j 11. 2235 Wilson
Section 2.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following
described buildings demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days of the effective
date of this ordinance:
14. 3360 Avenue B (Garage) 24. 3980 Harding Drive
15. 3480 Avenue B 25. 2080 Hemlock
16. 3120 Cartwright 26. 3565 Kenneth
17. 790 Church 27. 911-19 Magnolia (Commercial)
18. 990 Church (Garage) 28. 1104 Prince
19. 3109 Crockett W. 29. 1950 Pierce (Shed in Rear)
20. 1725 Delaware 30. 1285 Ranier
21. 2510 Delaware&Garage/Carport 31. 4190 Steelton (Commercial)
23. 1335 Grant 32. 771 Wall
If the property owner fails to comply within thirty (30) days, Council orders that the
property be demolished without further notice to the property owner(s) or City Council action.
Section 3.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4 of
the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following
described buildings either demolish or repair said structures within thirty (30) days of the
effective date of this ordinance:
13. 2535 Atlanta 34. 1950 Pierce
22. 850 Doucette
Section 4.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont,
Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4 of
the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following
described building either demolish or repair said structures within ninety (90) days of the
effective date of this ordinance:
10. 3090 Washington Blvd. Commercial
Section 5.
The owners of the following described properties are hereby notified that in accordance
with the ordinances of the City of Beaumont, the following structures are declared to be public
nuisances in violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City and
such structures will be presented to the City Council at an upcoming meeting to be held
approximately thirty (30) days from the date of this ordinance at which time the Council will
determine whether the properties should be razed or may be given an opportunity to be
repaired:
1. 1180 Ashley 12. 1170 Ashley
2. 5060 Chambers
Section 6.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the
application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be
held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance and,
to such end, the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 7.
That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
