BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
WHEREAS, on February 22, 2024, three (3) bids were received for ftimishing all labor,
nlatcrials, and equipment for the Wescalder Rd Pipe Bursting Project (Washington Blvd to Baker
Rd); and,
WHEREAS, Lopez Utilities Contractor, LLC, of Houston, Texas, submitted a bid in the
amount of $319,087.50 to complete the work and materials for the Wescalder Rd Pipe Bursting
Project (Washington Blvd to Baker Rd); and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Lopez Utilities
Contractor, LLC, of Houston, Texas is the lowest responsible bidder providing services at the
best value to the City and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in
all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Council hereby approves the award of a contract to Lopez Utilities
Contractor, LLC, of Houston, Texas, in the amount of $319,087.50 to complete the work and
material for the Wescalder Rd Pipe Bursting Project ((Washington Blvd to Baker Rd); and,
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Lopez
Utilities Contractor, LLC, of Houston, Texas, for the purposes described herein.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in strict
compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
