BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the Mayor, City Manager, and Emergency Management Coordinator be
and they are hereby authorized to execute a joint Mutual Aid Agreement (MAA) and four
(4) addendums with the Beaumont Independent School District (BISD), which will
supersede all prior mutual aid agreements or memorandums of agreement between the
City and BISD to provide a mechanism for local governments to seek assistance when
emergencies present equipment and manpower requirements beyond the capacity of an
individual jurisdiction; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, where it is deemed necessary and prudent,
all previously existing mutual aid agreements executed between the City and any
signatory to the joint mutual aid agreement are to be rescinded upon the giving of the
proper notice.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
