BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
WHEREAS, the lawsuit of Jeremy Brandon vs_ City of Beaumont; Cause No. ID-
206636 was discussed in Executive Session properly called and held on Tuesday,
October 1 1 , 2022; and,
WHEREAS, the City Attorney is requesting authority to settle this claim;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLA/EE) BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Attorney be, and is hereby, authorized to settle the lawsuit of
Jeremy Brandon vs. City of Beaumont; Cause No. E)-206636 for the sum of One
Hundred and Forty -Seven Thousand and O/100 dollars ($147,000.00); and,
BE IT FURTHER RES(DL\/EE) THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute all documents related to settlement of the claim_
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551 .
