WHEREAS, bids were solicited for a six (6) month contract, with the option of two
(2) renewals of six (6) month terms at the same pricing as the awarded contract, for the
purchase of Sodium Hydroxide for use by the Water Utilities Department; and,
WHEREAS, DXI Industries, Inc., of Houston, Texas, submitted the lowest
qualified bid meeting specifications for an estimated total expenditure of $667,036.80 in
the unit amounts as shown in Exhibit 'A" attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by DXI
ndustries, Inc., of Houston, Texas, is the lowest responsible bidder providing the best
value to the City and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the bid submitted by DXI Industries, Inc., of Houston, Texas, for a six (6)
month contract, with the option of two (2) renewals of six (6) month terms at the same
pricing as the awarded contract, for the purchase of Sodium Hydroxide in the unit prices
shown in Exhibit "A," attached hereto, for an estimated total expenditure of $667,036.80
be accepted by the City of Beaumont; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Interim City Manager be and he is
hereby authorized to execute a contract with DXI Industries, Inc., of Houston, Texas, for
the purposes described herein.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
