WHEREAS, on November 9, 2021 the City Council of the City of Beaumont passed
Resolution No. 21-305 awarding a contract in the amount of $389,923.61, to Irwin Seating
Company, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, for the replacement of the seating for the Civic
Center; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1, in the amount of ($38,658.03), is necessary for
the reduction of the overall seat count and the installation of fourteen (14) oversized seats.
Irwin Seating Company's initial proposal included a total of 1,827 seats, and the revised
seat count is 1,552 and the seat count reduction resulted from the elimination of the north
side seating, the installation of fourteen (14) extra wide seats, and the use of a 24" wide
seat as much as possible on each row of seating;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are
hereby, in all things, approved and adopted; -and,
THAT the Interim City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change
Order No. 1, in the amount of ($38,658.03), thereby decreasing the total contract amount
to $351,265.58 for the Civic Center seating replacement.
The meeting at which .this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict -compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter,
551.
