WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the purchase of a Vermeer TG5000 Tub
Grinder for use by the Solid Waste E)epartment; and,
WHEREAS, Vermeer Texas -Louisiana, of Cypress, Texas, submitted a bid in the
amount of $589,960.00, with a vendor credit in the amount of $60,000.00 making the
total purchase price $529,960.00, as shown in Exhibit "A," attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Vermeer
Texas -Louisiana, of Cypress, Texas, is the lowest responsible bidder providing the best
value to the City and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLA/E1D BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the bid submitted by Vermeer Texas -Louisiana, of Cypress, Texas, for the
purchase of a Vermeer TG5000 Tub Grinder for use by the Solid Waste department in
the amount of $589,960.00, with a vendor credit in the amount of $60,000.00 making
the total purchase price $529,960.00, as shown in Exhibit "A," attached hereto, be
accepted by the City of Beaumont; and,
BE IT FURTHER RES(DLA/EE) THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute a contract with Vermeer Texas -Louisiana, of Cypress, Texas, for
the purposes described herein.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
