WHEREAS, on July, 13, 2021, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas
passed Resolution No. 21-168 authorizing the purchase of a replacement 1250 kW diesel
generator set for use by the Water Utilities Department at the Loeb water well site from
Mustang Cat, of Houston, Texas, a sole source vendor, in the amount of $464,990.00;
and,
WHEREAS, installation of the generator on a raised platform is not possible within
the existing building, due to height; and,
WHEREAS, the purchase of an enclosure and base skid for the replacement
generator set is necessary to provide protection during inclement weather, give added
security, and to prolong the life of the generator; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of
Beaumont to purchase an enclosure and base skid for the replacement generator set for
the Loeb water well site;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Council hereby approves the purchase of an enclosure and base
skid for the replacement 1250 kW diesel generator set located at the Loeb water well site
from Mustang Cat, of Houston, Texas, a sole source vendor, in the amount of
$131,000.00.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in. all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 11th day of
