HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 21-224RESOLUTION NO. 21-224 WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 1006 and Texas Administrative Code Title 43, Part 3; Chapter 57, entities are eligible to receive grants from the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority to provide financial support to law enforcement agencies for economic automobile theft enforcement teams and to combat motor vehicle burglary in the jurisdiction; and, WHEREAS, this grant program will assist this jurisdiction to combat motor vehicle burglary and theft; and, WHEREAS, City of Beaumont has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the grant funds, City of Beaumont assures that the grant funds will be returned in full to the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in all things, approved and adopted; and, THAT Kyle Hayes, City Manager, is designated as the Authorized Official to apply for, accept, decline, modify, or cancel the grant application for the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Grant Program and all other necessary documents to accept said grant; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Onafre Tyler, Lieutenant, is designated as the Program Director and Todd Simoneaux, Chief Financial Officer, is designated as the Financial Officer for this grant. The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 22nd day of September, 2021.
