HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 21-178RESOLUTION NO. 21-178 WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Beaumont, that the 2019 LETPA (Law Enforcement Terrorist Prevention Activities) Sustaining Special Response Teams Project for the Police Department (Grant #3825101) be operated for the fiscal year 2021, and, WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the 2019 Homeland Security Grant Program supplemental funds, the City of Beaumont assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full, and, WHEREAS, the City Council designates the City Manager as the grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency from the Department of Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) through the Office of the Governor in the amount up to $6,807.71 for the purposes described herein, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in all things, approved and adopted; and, THAT the City Council approves submission of the grant application for the supplemental funding for the LETPA (Law Enforcement Terrorist Prevention Activities) Sustaining Special Response Teams Project for the Police Department to the Office of the Governor.
