HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 21-162RESOLUTION NO. 21-162 WHEREAS, on June 29, 2021 a discussion was held with City Council to discuss the details of a one-time payment to all full-time civilian employees (including appointed officials) in an amount equal to 2% of their base wages, and, WHEREAS, full-time civilian employees making less than $50,000 per year in base wages would receive a one -lime payment of $1,000 less all applicable payroll taxes, pension contributions and other related deductions, and, WHEREAS, civilian employees last received a 3% increase in October of 2019; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in all things, approved and adopted, and, THAT a one-time payment will be issued to all full-time civilian employees and appointed officials in an amount equal to 2% of their base wages; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT full-time civilian employees making less than $50,000 per year in base wages will receive a one-time payment of $1,000 less all applicable payroll taxes, pension contributions and other related deductions. The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 13th day of July, 2021.
