WHEREAS, on February 9, 2021, the City Council of the City of
Beaumont, Texas passed Resolution No. 21-035 awarding a contract in the
amount of $849,900.00 to Viking Painting, LLC, of Omaha, Nebraska, for the
West Elevated Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1, in the amount of $205,600.00, is
necessary for the replacement of sixteen (16) roof rafters due to unforeseen
section loss from corrosion found during construction, thereby increasing the total
contract amount to $1,055,500.00:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are
hereby, in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute
Change Order No. 1, in the amount of $205,600.00 for additional work described
above, thereby increasing the total contract amount to $1,055,500.00 for the
West Elevated Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things
conducted in strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas
Government Code, Chapter 551.
