ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE REINSTATING CHARGING
AND COLLECTION OF FARES FOR SERVICES FOR THE
BEAUMONT MUNICIPAL TRANSIT SYSTEM; AND,
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 20-051 repealed previously enacted closure orders
allowing for opening of all City facilities, and,
WHEREAS, the Ordinance allowed for continuation of suspension of the
charging and collection of fares for services for the Beaumont Municipal Transit System;
and,
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that such suspension should be
terminated and charging of fares reinstated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are
hereby, in all things, approved and adopted.
Section 2.
Charging and collection of fares for services for the Beaumont Municipal Transit
System are to be reinstated.
Section 3.
This Ordinance shall be effective June 1, 2021.
The meeting at which this ordinance was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551
