WHEREAS, on December 15, 2020, the City Council of the City of Beaumont,
Texas passed Resolution No. 20-277 awarding a contract in the amount of
$1,250,757.33 to Gulf Coast, a CRH Company, of Beaumont, Texas, for the Helbig
Road Asphalt Resurfacing Project, and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1, in the amount of $82,870.96, is required to
account for additional base repairs discovered once the existing asphalt surface was
removed, thereby increasing the total contract amount to $1,333,628.29;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and.
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change
Order No. 1, in the amount of $82,870.96 for additional work described above, thereby
increasing the total contract amount to $1,333,628.29 for the Helbig Road Asphalt
Resurfacing Project; and,
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 23rd day of
