WHEREAS, on March 2, 2021 Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued Executive
Order No. GA-34 relating to the opening of Texas in response to the COVID-19
disaster; and,
WHEREAS, Executive Order No. GA-34 removed all COVID-19 related operating
limits, including the requirement of wearing a face covering, for any business or other
establishment in the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, Executive Order No. GA-34 does not preclude any business or other
establishment from requiring employees or customers to follow additional hygiene
measures, including the wearing of a face covering; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont finds that it is in the best
interest of the citizens of the City of Beaumont to highly recommend the wearing of a
mask or other face covering in all City -owned facilities operated by the City of
Beaumont;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Council hereby adopts and declares that the wearing of face
masks or other face coverings in all City -owned facilities operated by the City of
Beaumont will be highly recommended.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
