WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont intends to make certain improvements to the
Beaumont Municipal Airport; and,
WHEREAS, the general description of the project is described as the Runway
and Ramp Reseal Project; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont intends to request financial assistance from
the Texas Department of Transportation for these improvements; and,
WHEREAS, total project costs are estimated to be $665,000.00, and the City of
Beaumont will be responsible for 10% of the total project costs currently estimated to be
$66,500.00; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont names the Texas Department of
Transportation as its agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all
funds for these improvements and for the administration of contracts necessary for the
implementation of these improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City of Beaumont hereby directs the City Manager to execute on behalf
of the City of Beaumont, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations
of this governing body, all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas,
represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as shall
be necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the improvements of the
Beaumont Municipal Airport.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
