WHEREAS, Request for Proposals (RFP) were solicited for a one (1) year
contract, with an option to renew upon mutual consentfortwo (2) additional one (1) year
periods, for collection services of delinquent Municipal Courtfines and fees; and,
WHEREAS, the proposal of Linebarger, Goggan, Blair and Sampson, LLP, of
Beaumont, Texas, was evaluated by City staff for delinquentfine and fee collections for
Municipal Court, as shown in Exhibit"A"attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the proposal submitted by
Linebarger, Goggan, Blair and Sampson, LLP, of Beaumont, Texas, for delinquentfine
and fee collections for MunicipalCourtshouldbeaccepted; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the proposal submitted by Linebarger, Goggan, Blairand Sampson, LLP, of
Beaumont, Texas, for a one (1) year contract, with an option to renew upon mutual
consent for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, for collection services of delinquent
Municipal Courtfines and fees, as shown on Exhibit"A" attached hereto, be accepted by
the City of Beaumont; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute a contract with Linebarger, Goggan, Blair and Sampson, LLP, of
Beaumont, Texas, for the purposes described herein, and,
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 26th day of
May, 2020.
