AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE 2020 MAXIMUM
TELECOMMUNICATIONS RIGHT-OF-WAY ACCESS LINE
RATES.
WHEREAS, the Public Utility Commission of Texas has notified the City of
Beaumont, in accordance with Chapter 283 of the Local Government Code, that its
2020 maximum telecommunications right-of-way access line rates by 0.7267% due to
inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI); and,
WHEREAS, residential telecommunications right-of-way access line rates will
increase from $0.62 to $0.63; and,
WHEREAS, non-residential telecommunications right-of-way access line rates
will increase from $1.40 to $1.42; and,
WHEREAS, point-to-point telecommunications right-of-way access line rates will
increase from $2.07 to $2.09; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the telecommunication right-of-
way access line rate increases as noted above are in the best interest of the City of
Beaumont and its citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT. residential telecommunications right-of-way access line rates will increase
from $0.62 to $0.63; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED THAT non-residential telecommunications right-of-
way access line rates will increase from $1.40 to $1.42; and,
BE IT ALSO ORDAINED THAT point-to-point telecommunications right-of-way
access line rates will increase from $2.07 to $2.09.
The meeting at which this ordinance was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 23rd day of
March, 2020.
