WHEREAS, on February 27, 2020, Request for Proposals (RFP) were received
for providing Life/AD&D and Voluntary Life/AD&D/Dependent Life insurance to the City
of Beaumont employees; and,
WHEREAS, the Administration evaluated the RFP's and found that some of the
responses did not meet specifications and others were not considered to be competitive
in price; and,
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of City of Beaumont Administration to
reject the RFP's and to re -bid at a later date; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is not in the best interest of the citizens of
Beaumont to accept the RFP's to provide Life/AD&D and Voluntary
Life/AD&D/Dependent Life insurance to the City of Beaumont employees and that said
RFP's should be rejected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Council does hereby reject the RFP's received for providing
Life/AD&D and Voluntary Life/AD&D/Dependent Life insurance to the City of Beaumont
employees.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
