RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, bids were received for furnishing 4,030 water meters
ranging in four sizes - 5/8", 111, 1-1/2" and 2" for the Water Utilities
Department; and,
WHEREAS, Rockwell International Corporation submitted a bid in
the amount of Ninety -Nine Thousand Six Hundred Fifty -Four and N0/100
($99,654.00) Dollars for -the 5/8", 1-1/2" and 2" meters for the Water
Utilities Department; and,
WHEREAS, Neptune Water Meter Company submitted a bid in the amount
of Four Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy -Five and N0/100 ($41,975.00) Dollars
for the 1" meters for the Water Utilities Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids submitted
by Rockwell International Corporation and Neptune Water Meter Company are
the lowest and best bids and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMCNT:
THAT the bids of Rockwell International Corporation in the amount of
$99,654.00 and Neptune Water Meter Company in the amount of $4,975.00 be
accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to execute a contract with the above-mentioned companies for
said water meters.
