RESOLUTION
W EREAS, bids were received for furnishing equipment and tools for
the Beaumont Transit System; and,
WHEREAS,. Standard Handling Devices submitted a bid in the amount of
One Thousand Six Hundred Seventy Nine and No/100 ($1,679.00) Dollars for the
equipment and tools for the Beaumont Transit System; and,
W]EREAS, Garner Supply submitted a bid in the amount of Two Thousand
Six Hundred Thirty -Eight and 02/100 ($2,638.02) Dollars for the equipment
and tools for the Beaumont Transit System; and,
WHEREAS, Snap-On Tools submitted a bid in the amount of Four Thousand
Seven Hundred Seventy -One and 87/100 ($4,771.87) Dollars for the equipment
and tools for the Beaumont Transit System; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids submitted
by Standard Handling Devices, Garner Supply and Snap-On Tools are the lowest
and best bids and should be accepted;
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by
Muncie Reclamation and Supply Company be rejected as it does not include
freight from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Beaumont and the rivet machine puller
does not meet specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids of Standard Handling Devices in the amount of $1,679.00, Garner
Supply in the amount of $2,638.02 and Snap-On 'Tools in the amount of $4,771.87
be accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the appropriate City official is hereby
authorized to make payment to above for said equipment and tools for the
Beaumont Transit System upon acceptable delivery;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the bid of Mmcie Reclamation and Supply
Company be rejected.
