WHEREAS, on the 4th day of November, 1975, the City of Beaumont,
Beaumont Independent School District and State of Texas and County of Jefferson,
received a Quitclaim Deed from the Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, conveying
the South 43 feet of Lots ELEVEN (11) and TWELVE (12), Block NINE (9), of the
VAN WORMER ADDITION. to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas. Said
sale resulted from a Judgment rendered and entered in Cause No. A -101091, a
delinquent tax suit styled the State of Texas vs. Luisa Saldana, et al; and
WHEREAS, on the 4th day of November, 19.75, the City of Beaumont,
Beaumont Independent School District and State of Texas and County of Jefferson,
received a Quitclaim Deed from the Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, conveying
the South 100 feet of Lot ONE (1), Block ELEVEN (11), of the VAN WORMER ADDI-
TION to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas. Said sale resulted from
a Judgment rendered and entered in Cause No. A-101091, a delinquent tax suit
styled the State of Texas vs. Luisa Saldana, et al; and
WHEREAS, in 1928, the City of Beaumont, Beaumont Independent School
District and State of Texas and County of Jefferson, received a Quitclaim Deed
from the Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, conveying Lot FIVE (5), Block ONE
(1), of the BULLOCK ADDITION to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.
Said sale resulted from a Judgment rendered and entered in Cause No. B-11713,
a delinquent tax suit styled the State of Texas vs. Samuel Thomas, et al; and
WHEREAS, G. A. SENTERS has submitted a sealed public bid in the amount
of THREE HUNDRED AND N0/100 ($300. 00) DOLLARS to the City of Beaumont,
Beaumont Independent School District and State of Texas and County of Jefferson for
the purchase of the South 43 feet of Lots ELEVEN (11) and TWELVE (12), Block
NINE (9), of the VAN WORMER ADDITION to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas, and the City Council of the City of Beaumont is of the opinion that
said bid is acceptable and. that this property should be placed back on the tax rolls
WHEREAS, MRS. ANTHONY PADILLA has submitted a sealed public
bid in the amount of EIGHT HUNDRED AND N0/100 ($800. 00) DOLLARS to the
City of Beaumont, Beaumont Independent School District and State of Texas and
County of Jefferson for the purchase of the South 100 feet of Lot ONE (1), Block
ELEVEN (11), of the VAN WORMER ADDITION to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas, and the City Council of the City of Beaumont is of the opinion that
said bid is acceptable and that this property should be placed back on the tax rolls
of the City of Beaumont; and
WHEREAS, G. L. WILSON has submitted a sealed public bid in the amount
of TWO HUNDRED AND N0/100 ($200. 00) DOLLARS to the City of Beaumont,
Beaumont Independent School District and State of Texas and County of Jefferson
for the purchase of Lot FIVE (5), Block ONE (1), of the BULLOCK ADDITION to
the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, and the City Council of the City.
of Beaumont is of the opinion that said bid is acceptable and that this property
should be placed back on the tax rolls of the City of Beaumont;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT;
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, for and in consideration
of the payment of the above mentioned amounts to execute and deliver a Quitclaim
Deed to G. A. SENTERS, MRS. ANTHONY PADILLA and G. L. WILSON conveying
any right, title and interest that the City of Beaumont has to the above mentioned
properties.
