WHEREAS, the Board of Equalization under date of August 30, 1976,
certified the assessment roll of property of the City of Beaumont for the
year 1976 by stating that the statements contained in the certificate of
the Assessor and Collector of the City of Beaumont are true and correct;
and,
WHEREAS, the certificate of Leon L. Burnett, Assessor and Collector
of the City of Beaumont, certified the assessment roll of property for
the year 1976 to be as follows:
LAND $134,088,540
IMPROVEMENTS 320,609,910
OIL ROYALTIES 3,857,500
TOTAL REAL ESTATE $458,555,950
SENIOR CITIZEN & VETERANS HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION
(APPROVED BY COUNCIL ACTION) -25,651,750
TOTAL ASSESSED REAL ESTATE 432,904,200
PERSONAL PROPERTY 113,510,040
TOTAL 546,414,240
and,
WHEREAS, the Assessment Roll with the approval of the Board of
Equalization has been returned to the City Council and the Council is of
the opinion that same is correct and should be approved and adopted as the
Assessment Roll to be used for the collection of taxes for the current
year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the Assessment Roll of property for the year 1976, showing total taxable
property of $546,414,240 based upon 60% of market value as certified by Leon
L. Burnett, Assessor and Collector, and as certified by'the Board of Equalization,
is hereby approved and the same is adopted as the Assessment Roll of the City
of Beaumont to be used for the collection of taxes forthe current year of 1976.
AND BE IT FURTER RESOLVED that the Mayor is hereby authorized to
sign the certificate of. the Tax Assessor and Collector and the Board of
Equalization as .approved by this Council as of September 21, 1976.
