RESOLUTION
74-RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Mrs. Elizabeth Morris of Jefferson County, Texas, as
required by statute, has submitted a sealed bid to purchase the property
hereinafter described that was acquired by the County of Jefferson, City
of Beaumont and South Park Independent School District at a tax fore-
closure sale held by the Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas by virtue of
a tax judgment in Cause No. E-99502 styled the State of Texas v. Houston
Harmon, et al; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with law, Mrs. Elizabeth Morris has paid to
the County of Jefferson, City of Beaumont and South Park Independent
School District the sum of ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND N01100 .($1,200.00)
DOLLARS to purchase the hereinafter described property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized for and on behalf of the
City of Beaumont to execute a Quitclaim Deed from the City of Beaumont,
to Mrs. Elizabeth Morris for the sun of THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY-SEVEN AND
NO/100 ($377.00) DOLLARS quitclaiming all right, title and interest in
and to that certain tract or parcel of land lying and situated in the
County of Jefferson, State of Texas, and being more particularly described
as follows, to -wit:
Lot No. 26, in Block No. 13, of the West Oakland
Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas, as per map or plat of said Addition on file
and of record in the office of the County Clerk of
Jefferson County, Texas.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is hereby officially found and de-
termined that the meeting at which this resolution is passed is open to
the public as required by law and that public notice of the time, place
and purpose of said meeting was given as required by Chapter 227, Acts of
the 61st Legislature, Regular Session, 1969.
