R E S 0 L U T I 0' N
WHEREAS, the acquisition of portions of Blocks 38 & 39 of
the Old Townsite of Beaumont is essential to.the location, construc-
tion, opening, extension and widening of,a public street crossover
between Pearl and Orleans Streets in The City of Beaumont,.and is
declared to be a municipal purpose and is considered to be in the
best interest of the citizenry of The City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered two appraisal re-
ports estimating the fair market value of the parcels. to be acquired
and has determined and approved,the offer that should be made to.the
owner of each parcel within said Blocks 38 & 39; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the Legal Department be, and is hereby, directed to com-
mence negotiations with the property owners of said Blocks 38 & 39 as
may be necessary for the hereinabove described purpose, and in accor-
dance with the offers directed by the City Council, to the end that
The City of Beaumont shall acquire said Blocks 38 & 39 to accomplish
said purpose, and to the further end that -property owners thereof
shall receive the fair cash value for their property.
