WHEREAS, the City Council of The City of -Beaumont deems it
necessary to acquire land for the proposed Civic Center Project, -be-
ing Citizens' Activities Program Project No. 45-B-01, and for street
right-of-way purposes; and,
WHEREAS, said City Council has found that public necessity.
requires this parcel of land for such purposes on the hereinafter -
described property; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to acquire the
hereinafter -described interest in and to the hereinafter -described
property and the said City Council has found and determined that the
said interest in and to the hereinafter -described land is suited for
such purposes and that it is' necessary to acquire same for said pur-
poses; and,
WHEREAS, The City of Beaumont has found it legally impossible
to negotiate with the owners of the hereinafter -described land because
said owners, neither collectively nor independently, have the power to
sell said land because of the terms of the will which vested said pro-
perty in said owners; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT Kenneth Wall, City Attorney, be and he is hereby, authorized or
directed to file or cause to be filed against all owners of the here-
inafter -described property and claimants of interest therein, Proceed-
ings in Eminent Domain to acquire fee title in and to the following -
described parcel of land situated in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas,
to wit:
Lots 610, 611, 615 & 616 of
Block 18 of the Original Town -
site of Beaumont, in The City
of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas,
for the public purpose of locating, constructing, maintaining, and
operating a City Hall,a City Auditorium, parking facilities for
said structures, and related municipal purposes and also for the
purpose of operating, widening, constructing and maintaining a
street right-of-way, in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas
