WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 69-9 the City of Beaumont
established the City of Beaumont Industrial District No. 6;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont and Gulf States Utilities
Company -entered into an agreement pursuant to the Municipal
Annexation Act for a term of seven (7) years ending December 31,
1975; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont and Gulf States Utilities
Company desire to enter into a new industrial district agree-
ment.pursuant to said Municipal Annexation Act;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE.IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter
into and execute an agreement with Gulf States Utilities
Company for a term of seven (7). years beginning on January 1,
1976, and ending on December 31, 1982, providing for the con-
tinuation of the extraterritorial status of the City of Beaumont
Industrial District No. 6 in exchange for payment by Gulf
States Utilities Company of $288,000 in 1976 and $237,500
during each year thereafter; and that the City Clerk be, and
he is hereby, authorized to attest to same and to affix the
Seal of the City thereto.
