W1EREAS, the City Council considers it in the best interest of
the City of Beaumont to apply for a grant entitled "Organized Crime
Control Unit", said grant to provide funds for personnel, hardware and
software to be utilized to investigate organized crime; and,
WHEREAS, said grant is to be funded in the approximate amount of
Two Hundred Twenty Eight Thousand Seven Hundred and No/100 ($228,700.00)
Dollars during the initial 24 months by the Federal Government;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager, the Police Chief as the Project Director, and the
City Finance Officer be and :they are hereby, authorized to execute all
necessary documents to make application for a Law Enforcement Assistance
Administration Discretionary Grant from the United States Department of
Justice as described herein.
