WHEREAS, the acquisition of certain right-of-way along
Sarah Street (CIP Project 11 -ST -122) is essential to the lo-
cation, construction, widening and maintenance of Sarah Street
and intersections thereon, and is considered in the best in-
terest of the City of Beaumont, and is hereby declared to be

in the public interest; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:

THAT the Community Development Department be, and it is
hereby, authorized and directed to commence negotiations with
the property owners of the herein above described land in ac-
cordance with the "Summary of Appraisal Reports" heretofore
considered and approved by the City Council in closed session,
which "Summary of Appraisal Reports' is hereby declared to con-
tain information pertaining to the purchase price of real
property for a public purpose until such time as there is a
formal award of contracts for the project, to the end that
the City of Beaumont shall acquire the right-of-way necessary
to accomplish said purpose, and to the further end that property
owners thereof shall receive the fair cash value for their
property.
