R E S 0 L U T I O N
WHEREAS, bids were received for the furnishing of one-half
ton to one -ton trucks for the Fleet Maintenance Department; and,
WHEREAS, Myron Gray Chrysler Center submitted a bid in the
total amount of Seven Thousand Twenty -Seven and 68/100 ($7,027.68)
Dollars, and.GMC Dixie Trucks, Inc. submitted a bid in the total
amount of Fifty -Three Thousand Five Hundred Eighteen and No/100:
($53,518..00) Dollars,. both for the one-half ton to one -ton trucks
for the Fleet Maintenance Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids
submitted by Myron Gray Chrysler Center and GMC Dixie Trucks, Inc.
are the,lowest and best bids and should be accepted;. and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids
submitted for the three one-ton"'flat bed trucks do not meet specifi-
cations and should be rejected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL,OF THE CITY, OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids of Myron Gray Chrysler Center in- the total amount;of
$7,027.68, and GMC Dixie Trucks, Inc. in the total amount of $53,518.00
be accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the appropriate City official
is hereby authorized to make.payment for said trucks upon acceptable
delivery; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Beaumont hereby.re-
jects the bids on the three one -ton flat bed trucks.
