R E S 0 L U T I,0 N
WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Advisory Board had
made available funds for the continuation of the Police' Public
Services Unit for a third year, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of'the City of Beaumont
recognizes that the continuation of Police Public Services !is
vital and beneficial to the welfareof this city by increasing
understanding and mutual awareness between the community and the
Police Department; and, I
WHEREAS, the City is prepared.to.commit .funds for half
the cost of this proposed grant continuation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:

THAT the necessary City of.fici.als, to wit: the City Manager,
the City Finance Director, the Chief of Police,, and the Project
Director of the Beaumont Police Department are hereby autho-
rized to execute.an application for a grant to the Texas Crimi-
nal Justice Advisory.Board for funds to continue the Beaumont
Police Public Services Unit. The�,City Council will consider

authorizing the City to extend the services presently provided
for under this grant when funding support expires.
