R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Urban Mass Transportation Administration
of the Department of Transportation has tendered to the City
a grant in the total sum of Two Million Two Hundred Fifty Three
Thousand Two Hundred Four and No/100 ($2,253,204.00) Dollars,
representing eighty (80) per cent of the cost of capital
improvements to be made to the City's transit system; and,
WHEREAS, the City's share of the cost of said improve-
ments is $563,301.00; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that said
grant should be accepted; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont heretofore on April 22,
1975 passed a resolution dealing with the subjects of this,
resolution, but since such date a new Acting City Manager has
been appointed to serve the City of Beaumont and should be
substituted on said resolutions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager, Howard McDaniel be, and he is hereby,
authorized to accept said grant on behalf of the City of
Beaumont and to execute all documents appropriate to the carrying
out of the purposes of said grant; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all appropriate City
Officials are authorized to execute such documents as may be
necessary for the acceptance of said grant.
