R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, on August 18, 1972, the City of Beaumont, Texas, did
file with the County Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas, certain weed
lien in the amount of $75.26, including costs of recording, covering
Lot 5, Block 34, West Oakland Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jef-
ferson County, Texas, which said liens are recorded'in the M & L
Records of said County in Volume 1446, Page 8; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Sue Levin is the owner of said above property
and desires to pay to the City of Beaumont the monies represented by
said weed lien and have same released to her; and,
WHEREAS, on May 15, 1974, the City of Beaumont, Texas, did
file with the County Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas, certain weed
lien in the amount of $17.49, including costs of recording, covering
Lot Nos. 4, 5, & 6, in Block 121 of the CARTWRIGHT 2nd ADDITION to
the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, according to the map
or plat of said Addition filed of Record in Volume 4, Pages 9-10 of
the Map Records of Jefferson County, Texas; which said liens are re-
corded in the M & L Records of said County in Volume 1530, Page 259;
and,
WHEREAS, Jack Straughter is the owner of said above property
and desires to pay to the City of Beaumont the monies represented by
said weed lien and have same released to him;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT Ken Ritter, Mayor, be and he is hereby, authorized to execute and
deliver to the said Mrs. Sue Levin and Jack Straughter a release of
the above-described weed liens for and in consideration of the sums
aforementioned, receipt of which are hereby acknowledged, and the City
Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to same and to affix the Seal of
the City of Beaumont thereto.
