WHEREAS, the City Council considers it to be in the best in-
terest of the citizens of the City of Beaumont to apply for a grant
from the Governor's Office of Traffic Safety.for the development of
a "School Trip Safety Program"; and,
WHEREAS, said grant will be requested to be funded 100% in the
approximate amount of $11,000-$12,000 by the Federal and State govern-
ments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby, authorized to execute all
necessary documents to make application for a grant from the Governor's
Office of Traffic Safety of the State of Texas for the development of a
"School Trip Safety Program".
