R E 0 L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Advisory Board had made
available funds for the continuation of the Police Public Services
Unit for a third year; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council.of the City of Beaumont recognizes
that the continuation of Police Public Services is vital and beneficial
to the welfare of this city by increasing..under_standing and mutual
awareness between the community and the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, the City is prepared to commit funds.for half the cost
of this proposed grant continuation in the form of in-kind salary match;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the necessary City officials, to wit: the City Manager, -the City
Finance Director, the Chief of Police, and the Project Director of the
Beaumont Police Department are hereby authorized to execute an applica-
tion for a grant to the Texas Criminal Justice Advisory Board for funds
to continue the Beaumont Police Public Services Unit.
