WHEREAS, by resolution dated February 20, 1973, the City Council
adopted a resolution requesting the Texas Highway Department to include
a twenty-four inch (2411) water pipe line in their plans for the expansion
of Interstate Highway 10 bridge over the Neches River; and,
WHEREAS, a joint agreement between the City and the State was en-
tered into on July 5, 1974, for the construction of such water line; and,
WHEREAS, the State is now ready to proceed with their -portion of
this project and has requested that the City deposit the sum of Fifty
Thousand Two Hundred and No/100 ($50,200.00) Dollars to cover the esti-
mated cost of construction; and,
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Water Utilities System Fund
to cover the cost of this construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the appropriate City official is hereby authorized to -make payment
to the Texas Highway Department in the amount of $50,200.00 to cover the
estimated cost of the proposed water line extension over the Neches River.
