WHEREAS, on May 6, 197-5, the City of Beaumont received bids
for the Shakespeare Drive Unit XI Participation Paving Project; and,
WHEREAS, Don Streety Enterprises submitted a bid in the sum
of One Hundred Sixteen Thousand Thirty -Nine and 50/100 ($116,039.50)
Dollars for such project; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that the contract
be awarded to Don Streety Enterprises; and,
WHEREAS, this is a participation paving project contract in
which Don Streety Enterprises has agreed to pay a portion of the cost
of the construction of the street and has placed in escrow the sum of
Seventy -Three Thousand One Hundred Thirteen and 80/100 ($73,113.80)
Dollars with the City of Beaumont which sum is a sufficient sum of
money to cover its part of the cost of the paving of said street; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid sub-
mitted by Don Streety Enterprises is the lowest and best bid and should
be accepted and a contract entered into with Don Streety Enterprises for
the Shakespeare Drive Unit XI Participation Paving Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Don Streety Enterprises in the amount of $116,039.50 be
accepted, and the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to exe-
cute on behalf of the City of Beaumont a contract with Don Streety En-
terprises for the Shakespeare Drive Unit XI Participation Paving Project
for the said sum of $1161,039.50; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized
to attest to said contract and to affix the Seal of the City of Beaumont
thereto.
