WHEREAS, after extensive negotiations between the City of
Beaumont and the International Association of Firefighters pursuant
to the terms of .the Fire and Police Public Employees Relations Act,
Article 5154c-1 of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, it has become
apparent that an impasse has been reached and that no agreement can
be reached between the City of Beaumont and its firefighters represen-
ted by Local 399 of the International Association of Firefighters; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Fire and Police Employees Relations
Act, Local 399 of the International Association of Firefighters has re-
quested that the unresolved demands of the firefighters be submitted
to arbitration in accordance with the Act;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF.THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City of Beaumont agrees to submit to arbitration those matters
contained in the request of Local 399 of the International Association
of Firefighters dated May 12, 1975, and that the action of Chairman of
the negotiation team of the City of Beaumont agreeing to submit to such
matters to arbitration is hereby in all respects ratified; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Mr. Charles A. Kothe is hereby ap-
pointed as the representative of the City of Beaumont on the arbitration
panel.
