WHEREAS, bids were received for the furnishing of cleaning
and painting of,the interior and exterior of the one million gallon
elevated water storage tank located at Liberty and 13th Streets; and,
WHEREAS, Lupton Painting Company submitted a bid in the amount
of Twelve Thousand and No/100 ($12,000.00) Dollars for the cleaning and
painting of the interior,of the water storage tank, and Virginia Erec-
tion Corporation submitted a bid in the amount of Ten Thousand Five Hun-
dred Seventy and No/100 ($10,570.00) Dollars for the cleaning and paint-
ing of the exterior of the water storage tank located at Liberty and
13th Streets; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bicb sub-
mitted by Lupton Painting Company and Virginia Erection Corporation are
the lowest and best bids and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Lupton Painting Company in the amount of $12,000.00,
and of Virginia Erection Corporation in the amount of $10,570.00, be
accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the appropriate City official is
hereby authorized to make payment for said cleaning and painting upon
satisfactory completion.
